Founded in 2016, Knight Ridge Consulting is dedicated to building an equitable nonprofit community.

our story

Knight Ridge is a forest in southern Indiana.  Part of my family settled there in the 1800's, and its rolling hills, gentle creek, and inspiring beauty bring me many fond memories. As a child, it was a space to actively explore, be brave, and learn. This natural world reflected the strength of its past and a hope for the future.

Jenny burch, OWNER & PRESIDENT

Jenny is an empathic leader devoted to sharing spaces with others who build equitable nonprofit communities. Most recently, Jenny served as Interim President & CEO of Classical Music Indy, with a vision to be the most equitable, accessible provider of high-quality classical music opportunities for audiences and artists in Central Indiana.

Prior to that, Jenny was Chief Development Officer at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, the largest museum of its type in the world and a Top-20 most visited museum in the United States. A native of Indianapolis, Jenny has over 30 years experience in the nonprofit sector, with expertise in the arts and organizations that serve youth, women, and families.

LEADING REVENUE STRATEGIES AT THE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM OF INDIANAPOLIS

Burch has led fundraising teams responsible for securing over $75 million for annual, capital, and planned giving programs. She launched the Museum’s recent $57 million comprehensive campaign, successfully completing its silent leadership phase.

While leading the Museum’s Membership program, Burch more than doubled the number of member households from 16,000 to 30,000 in less than 18 months. Burch secured the largest sponsorship in the Museum’s history, as well as local and national corporate partners for the Museum’s major health and science initiatives, early childhood experiences, and touring exhibits. Sponsors included national brands such as Swiffer, Sherwin-Williams, Chase, Coca-Cola, Lilly, and Target.

LEADING THE FIELD

Burch is an alumna of the Getty Museum Leadership Institute and the Disney Institute, where she studied and collaborated with her peers on strategic planning, financial planning, and customer loyalty strategies.  She has served on panels and conducted workshops at numerous professional conferences, including the American Association of Museums, Association of Children’s Museums, Midwest Museum Association, Ohio Museums Association, the Indiana Festivals Association, and Association of Indiana Museums.  She has consulted with Children’s City in Dubai and the Santa Barbara Children’s Museum.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Burch served as Program Chair for the Development and Membership Professional Network of the American Alliance of Museums in Washington, D.C.  She also served on the National Program Committee for the American Alliance of Museum’s 2020 national meeting. Her personal philanthropy supports women’s and girls’ causes in Indianapolis, and organizations with strong social justice and equity outcomes. Burch is a proud alumna of the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana’s OPTIONS Class 11.
